Mechanical Engineer

2022 - 2024

Mettler Toledo PI

Tampa, FL

As a Mechanical Engineer at Mettler Toledo, I designed conveyor systems used in industrial checkweighing equipment for high-speed manufacturing and packaging environments. My work involved full machine design, component selection, and system integration to ensure reliable, accurate product inspection on automated production lines. I also supported internal automation initiatives, managing projects that improved efficiency on the manufacturing floor while working extensively with CAD systems, large assemblies, and enterprise engineering tools.

  • Designed conveyor systems for industrial checkweighing and product inspection equipment

  • Performed machine design including selection and integration of rollers, sensors, pneumatics, structural frames, guarding, rejection devices, motors, gearboxes, and belts

  • Created and managed large Bills of Materials (BOMs) using SAP

  • Designed assemblies and detailed components using Autodesk Inventor with data management through Teamcenter

  • Managed manufacturing floor automation projects, coordinating design, implementation, and cross-functional collaboration with production teams, including development of an automated test track to accelerate testing and validation of new conveyor systems

  • Delivered $20K in annual cost savings by redesigning standard components to improve manufacturability, eliminate non-critical features, and implement more cost-effective material selections.
